3rd IBSA World Chess Championship Concludes in Montenegro

The 3rd IBSA World Chess Championship took place in Petrovac, Montenegro, bringing together 36 athletes from 13 countries. Over nine intense rounds, players battled for the podium, showcasing skill and sportsmanship.

Three competitors finished with the same points, requiring a tie-break based on the Bucholtz system. Zambo Zoltan Istvan (Hungary) claimed the title, Kimsanboyev Axadxon (Uzbekistan) took silver, and Nikac Predrag (Montenegro) secured bronze.

In the women’s category, Palacios Figueroa Barbara (Venezuela) won gold, followed by Vilics Hanna (Hungary) with silver and Sanchez Ruiz Piedad (Spain) with bronze.
